The first thing that comes to mind when I think of Monte Carlo is GRACE KELLY. But apart from our Hollywood princess, the city is known for its CASINOS, its FORMULA 1 RACING MONACO GRAND PRIX, its fancy lifestyle and monarchy.
I spent a day there to feel a bit of this universe, and it was enough to get to know it because MONACO IS SMALLER THAN CENTRAL PARK. It is for sure a high-society city; one in three people who live there is a millionaire, and it has a poverty rate of zero. It also has the highest average life expectancy in the world, at 85.8 years.
There are many high buildings that, I thought, were a bit heavy for the city’s landscape since the city is so small. From all the cities on the French Riviera, it is definitely the most different one. I still prefer the simplicity of the small villages around, but it's definitely worth the visit.
