MONTEROSSO
I felt good that I had chosen Monterosso to stay. It is the biggest of the five towns, so you have more options to eat, drink, and walk around. Monterosso is divided into two parts: FEGINA and the OLD TOWN/PORT. I recommend staying in Fegina, it has the largest and best beach in Cinque Terre to swim on, and it also has a nice promenade.
Visit the AURORA TOWER during the sunset for a delightful view, cocktails, and jazz. It's really worth it!
For a good meal, try MIKY, a Michelin recommended restaurant, or LA CANTINA DI MIKY for something more spontaneous near the beach. They are great!
*CINQUE TERRE consists of FIVE SMALL FISHING VILLAGES in the REGION OF LIGURIA, northwest of the Italian Riviera coastline. The villages are Monterosso, Vernazza, Corniglia, Manarola and Riomaggiore.
Protected by UNESCO, it has unique scenic landscapes along the Mediterranean Sea with
colorful old-century houses, fishing boats and bays, great seafood, and vineyards. It is also well known for its pesto.

Due to its small structure, it is probably not a nice place to visit during the high season. Actually, I always avoid Italian beaches in July and August due to the crowds.
Cinque Terre is fortunately CAR FREE, and it's easy to get to the other villages by train or boat.*
