I visited Pompeii while I was on the Amalfi Coast. Near the BAY OF NAPLES, Pompeii attracts around 10,000 people daily. It is easy to find a guided tour, and you need just a few hours of your day. I recommend going with a tour guide so you get to know more historical details and the life of that time in the city.

Pompeii was a developed and important Roman city that vanished after the VOLCANO VESUVIUS erupted in 79 AD. When Pompeii was built, they believed they were near a mountain, not a volcano. The tragedy happened because the WIND WAS BLOWING IN THE ‘WRONG’ DIRECTION on the day of the eruption. Usually, the wind would blow the other way.
