Görlitz is also known as GORLIWOOD for being a city that serves as a setting and location for many films, including INGLORIOUS BASTARDS, HOTEL BUDAPEST and THE READER. Indeed, the city is pretty cute and scenic, and its old town is very well preserved since it wasn't damaged during the Second World War.
Görlitz is in Eastern Germany, on the POLISH BORDER. You can easily cross the old town bridge by walking and be in Poland to have some vodka.
BUDAPEST HOTEL
If you like WES ANDERSON movies, you will find in Görlitz the location where the interior hotel scenes of The Grand Budapest Hotel were shot. It is worth a visit!
